Atchison Kansas

Yesterday, May 24th found us driving to Hiawatha Kansas. One of the places we stopped was Atchison Kansas – the most haunted city in Kansas. One of my favorite places to visit on the web is Legends of America. Click here to read their article about Atchison Kansas.

Since I wasn’t driving I was having a ball taking pictures of some of the historic homes. One of the homes we saw was Amelia Earhart’s childhood home. We did visit two cemeteries and I will be posting pictures of those tomorrow.

BEGIN

This is now.  Now is,
all there is.  Don't wait for Then;
strike the spark, light the fire.

Sit at the Beloved's table,
feast with gusto, drink your fill

then dance
the way branches
of jasmine and cypress
dance in a spring wind.

The green earth
is your cloth;
tailor your robe
with dignity and grace.

Tipton and Warrensburg

Catholic Church in Tipton MO

Liberty Cemetery nears Warrensburg MO

His spirit left
From Tree to sky to star and past is leapt
But in our hearts
His warmth his smile heis ready laugh
Shall be ever kept.

The vacant place, the empty chair,
We see them day by day,
And, Oh it tills our hearts with care,
Since our loved one went away.
But though the light has left us here,
Like the setting of the sun,
We'll trust the ever Father dear,
And say, 'Thy will be done."

Only good night beloved
Not farewell
Again we will dwell in
Hallowed Union indivisible
Good Night

Tis said long absence
Conquers love, tis vain
The saying to prove for
Thou art not forgot.
