Surely’s Check-up

Surely has developed a horrible cough and so the poor thing ended up in veterinarian’s office today.

When I was registering her, mom had to hold her and Surely just cried, scream, whine, and shed copious amounts of hair. She calmed down the minute I took her and put her in my lap. It is such a terrifying moment for her.

She has gained 2 pounds so she is back to her normal weight. There is fluid in her lungs, her larynx is semi collapsed, and she has allergies. They doubled her seizure medication; put her on a water pill, allergy meds, and meds to open her airways. She is taking more pills than me. The good news is she will not have to stay on the meds. In 10 days she will go back for a follow-up and if everything is okay then she will be on her seizure medications only.

Another good thing happened. The doctor gave her a shot and it did scare the poo out of her. That was her stool sample. It also took two vet techs to hold her down for an x-ray.

Right now she is passed out on the couch.
