Onward and Upward

Jackson MO May 14th

RV Park: Cherokee Hills

Sites Visited: Buford MO
4 Story Mill with the oldest covered bridge in Missouri next door to it.

Ste Genevieve, MO
The Felix Valle State Historic Site
It is a one and one-half story, side gable, limestone dwelling with a merchant store and family quarters. The state completely restored the house back to its original conditional. What fascinated me was the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms was located on the back porch. The kitchen was located next door, which is typical. For those that don’t know why it is because of fire. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I found out that the French built log cabins with the logs up and down. The town of Ste. Genevieve reminds me of Arrow Rock. Historical Town turned tourist trap but the houses were beautiful. It was at the Cherokee Hills Park that I clipped the tree with the RV. The only consolation was that I hooked up the car with any problems. We plan to go back to Cherokee Park after our stay at Cahokia Park.

Edwardsville IL May 16th

RV Park: Red Barn Rendezvous

We stayed here to visit with Deanie and family.

Cahokia IL May 19th

RV Park: Cahokia RV Parque

This is a great place. Kids, full timers, part timers, etc. It is so much fun to sit in our lawn chairs and watch the people. Today, the 20th Deanie, Mom, and I went to the Cahokia Mounds. Many pictures taken and will be posted on Ringo. Tomorrow we are trying to decide on the Botanical Gardens or the zoo.

Location:  Buford, St. Geneivieve
