Mom needed to send a fax Wednesday which meant a quick trip to FedEx. When we pulled up I saw an old friend through the window waiting for me, a wonderful book titled "Wicked" written by Gregory Maguire. I purchased the book when it first came out and I couldn't put it down then. Every spare moment I had I would be reading it. I was excited to see and have my friend back.
A day later I had to do laundry and after throwing the clothes in the dryers I sat down with my old friend and discovered the magic was still there. I became so engrossed in the book, the owner of the park came in and said "You know you can always turn on the lights." Yes, I sat there and lost all track of time and laundry. I read until dark and continued until someone came in and drug me back to reality.

Now THAT is a good read!!
I just saw that author interviewed on Oprah a couple of weeks ago. Seems he and his partner have adopted three kids. The program was about modern dad's that are raising their kids without moms. His partner is a fairly famous artist. Oprah was very complimentry to him.
Anyhow the same week "Wicked" (the play) opened here in Minneapolis and was quite the success. My friend Diane recently gave me a copy of the play and a soundtrack of it. She is a huge fan.
You know how they say things come in three's? Well now this is four. I think I am just maybe supposed to read this.
Okay...I mean Jeeze Louise...I get the hint. (LOL)
