No Need For Tears... When A Howl Says It All

Fi and Lu made two special friends this winter, Bill and Pat. Bill would call for them when they were out for a walk and they would go tearing across the RV park to go see him. Sometimes he would stop by just to say hi. He always had a treat, friendly words, and lots of loving. He called Fi "Inky Blob" and Lu "Lucy." Whenever we go for our walks Lu will always stop in front of his RV and bark - once then twice, then she waits.... If he doesn't appear she continues on.

Early, early this morning this fantastic couple left to go home. Later on Lu stopped in front of their RV and barked - once, twice and then she went on. After our walk we went out to the house and the pups had a great time running and playing. When we returned home, I took them for a walk. Lu stopped in front of their RV - barked once, twice.... then she looked at me and I think she understood then they had left. She howled, it was heart wrenching. She took a few more steps and then turned around and we walked home.

Oh, my, that is so sweet and it brought tears to my eyes! What a smart little girls she is. I hope she recovers from the heartache. Give her a little scratch behind the ear from our household.

Poor little Lulu! :(
I left a note to your comment over on my blog.... Should've left it here, I'm sleepy and wasn't thinking...

I forgot to tell you, we drove through Bisbee to Belle Starr's today, and right when we turned that corner on the highway, right where you can see the whole town lying on the hillside, I thought of you. And about how I love that little spot, and how I hate that there's no way to take a photo of it from there without getting yourself mowed down by a freightliner!

Thanks for the Mother's Day wishes and I hope you and your Mom had a great day too. Spring sure is rushing by quickly.
