Taking The Back Roads and Motorcycles.

When I left Davenport on the 11th I drove the back roads to Baraboo Wisconsin.  I checked the weather forecast and saw there was a chance for rain.  The map showed "red" road so I  assumed the roads were decent because of the map.  I was wrong.  There was miles and miles and miles of narrow river road with little to no shoulder.  Add torential rain with very little visibility and you have a nail baiting journey.  The day started out beautiful so there was a lot of motorcycle riders out and about.  I will say this no one didn't try to pull over on the narrow shoulder to get out of the rain which I am thankful for.  Yes this has happened in the past.  I came up to an intersection and someone rearended a motorcycle which threw the bike and riders into a field.  It was terrible.  You cannot drive away from that without tears because you know two people's lives changed that day and not for the good.   The EMT and police were there.

I drive a big ass van and I have trouble.  People trying to pass me or driving to close.  My bike has a little bend in it because of a driver hitting it.  People need to slow down, pay atttention, and motorcycle riders need to realize that black is not cool because it is not visible.

I agree with about the wearing black thing.

I'm trying to catch up on all the blogs and pictures now. It's been unbelievably busy here. And unbearably humid.
