And How Was Your Day?

This morning we had to drive to Stuart Florida, a 2-hour trip, to have some warranty work done on the generator.  We were instructed it would take all day, be prepared to wait and be there at 8:30.   Since this was the 4th Roadtrek Dealership I have been to  I was a little apprehensive.  We have had no luck with Roadtrek Dealerships that also claims to service them and this one was no different.  We pulled in and found out that they don’t do warranty work on generators.  I was given directions to a “business” that does warranty work on Onan generators and I was able to follow these directions well.  I was a little confused because the address took me to storage units.  I called the business and I was snapped at by the owner.  I think he was put out that I couldn’t follow directions.  He gave us directions and  we were exactly where we were suppose to be.   There were business there but they were storing their equipment and trucks not operating a business.  There were a couple of storage buildings open that were doing car repairs.  It was a little strange. So we drove around the storage buildings again.  We didn’t find his Cadillac that was supposed to be parked out front, and we didn’t find the business.  Mom said “this is shadier than hell.”  We went back to Sebring.

We decided, after a morning like this, we should treat ourselves to lunch at the Sebring Diner.  They have wonderful food.  In fact for under $20 we not only had lunch but leftovers for supper.

As far as our generator goes we will start calling around various RV Dealerships with service and see if any will honor our warranty.   I will say this when the time comes and it is a long time off, we will not be trading our Roadtrek in for another one.  As much as we love our little van we do like the service.

It's too bad you're having so much trouble. The incongruence between the product and service stinks. Have you thought of contacting the corporate offices? It's unlikely, but they may actually not know about this problem, as widespread as it seems to be. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear your negativity about the Roadtrek warranty work because I was thinking of looking at them.
