Today mom and I decided to go to Manatee Park in Fort Myer.
Manatee Park is located in Fort Myers, Florida on State Road 80 directly across from Florida Power and Light power plant. The manatees enjoy the warm water from the Caloosahatchee River which flows across from the power plant.
It cost $1 an hour to park your car and there is no entrance fee. Between the months of November and March you can view the manatees from sidewalks alongside the river.
Manatee Park is not very big but it has everything you need to spend an afternoon. There is a butterfly garden and a playground. The grounds have native plants and all are well marked to identify them. It also has a little gift shop for those that want a t-shirt to remember their visit here.

Looks like a nice day, except for the alligator (croc?). I love manatees - since I saw a program about them years ago on TV. Such huge, ugly, sweet animals. I'd like to see them in person some day, like you did.

If I remember correctly you saw some manatees not too long ago in another location. They're on my list of things to see.
