An Update

After finding ourselves in Guthrie Oklahoma in a hotel we decided it would be a wise to invest in a Weather Radio. Click on “The Calm Before The Storm” entry for the story. Anyway we figured we would never be caught unaware again. Last night before going to bed we listen to our newly acquired radio. Then we went to bed feeling safe and secure.

At 7:00 a.m. a bolt of lightning hit right outside mom’s window and she awoke to seeing a blue explosion. The whole van shook. I jumped out of bed ready to do something… I don’t know what because I was still half asleep but I was ready for battle though. We lost electrical power which wasn’t surprising and after making sure everything was ok I went back to sleep. I woke up an hour later and our electric was still not working. I took the coffee pot and started plugging it into the outlets in the back of the van and the on and off switch lit up. (If you don’t have a lamp this will work) This meant I only lost power in the kitchen, front of the van area. It was the GPF switch aka electrical doo hickey. We decided to stay another day. Tomorrow we head out again and head to Missouri.
