We Are Not In Kansas Anymore

Recalculating-sm I had to drive through Kansas City this morning.  I had my full glass of water with ice so I was prepared for city driving, I just wish my GPS was just as prepared.  I was cruising along in pouring rain grooving to the tunes and talking when all of a sudden I heard a voice!
RECALCULATING…
RECALCULATING…
RECALCULATING…

Obviously it wasn’t God or my invisible friend.

I think it was having a breakdown of sorts.  I wasn’t about to follow the directions it was giving me because I recognized a few of the streets and believe it wouldn’t be a wise move on my part to travel down the path it was trying to take me.   I think it was trying to pull my plug so I pulled its plug and I drove.  About 10 minutes later mom plugged it in and we tried it again.  Finally it did it’s job and got me out of there.  I have to agree with several folks that we have become to dependent on the GPS.  That doesn’t mean I am going to give it up though - no matter how badly I want to throw it out the window.

*******

It is almost embarrassing to admit this but these are the only pictures I took of my visit with my sister.  The first two pictures are of Rose and McKenna.

I'm laughing about the GPS! I'm dependent, too, but it has saved my tushie many times. Mine has the voice of an Aussie man. So you know, mine does that occasionally, too, giving me wrong commands or being stuck in a different location, so I do the same thing, turn it off, allow the "Aussie in a Box" to pull himself together, and then we're good to go.

Like most men, the GPS voices need a little "readjustment" at times!! ;D

Ahem Lynilu... LOL! Okay, maybe a little re-adjustment on occasion...

Our GPS, Frank (who has a french female voice and a few issues of his own) is pretty good most of the time, but I enjoy confusing him by driving around in circles in a parking lot :) Okay, I may be easily amused, hence the occasional adjustments!

That is an excellent cartoon! Great blog as always!

I am wanting the corvette. Love the family pictures. I to depend on my Garmin I love it; it is great. Got me out of couple speeding tickets too. How you ask well when your going somewhere you haven't been and not sure how long it will take you to get there just punch in where you are going and there is the eta you will get there. Best way to plan your trip and avoid speeding when getting there. Also if I am not mistaken that is Kerry's garage and that must be his corvette and now I know where to steal it he he he he don't tell him though

I still print out maps or memorize them when going somewhere. And yes I laugh a deep laugh as I drive away telling the unplugged gps to suck it. : ) you know how I feel about it : )
And you should have called. Sometimes I do have my phone and sometimes I do know where I'm going. It may have been your lucky day. You could have gotten both!
Can't wait to see you two. I will have the hose turned on with a bottle of shampoo on the front porch : )

What Dogs See

I am now a happy person that shares her home with two dogs. Miss Sophie has moved in with us full time. She is a Miniature Pinscher, 6 years...
