Greetings from Texas

This has been a wild and crazy week!

We rolled into Lampasas Texas and spent a few days there.  Our plan was to spend the night and move on the next day but the lady at the office had so much information about the area that we signed on for a few more nights.  It was Sunday that we stayed home to do some much needed housework and laundry.  Later on that day I did something to my back that knocked the wind out of me.   The pain was unbelievable.

Monday we pulled up stakes and moved on.  The drive was only a couple hours but if felt like eternity.  We took the back roads and enjoyed the scenery.  We ate lunch at a park and met another Trekkie.  About an hour before our destination we heard a loud POP!  It was directly above my head and truthfully it scared the holy ned out of us.  To make a long story short, one of the vista windows shattered..  How that happened is a mystery.  We found a place that will make the necessary repairs and then I called my insurance company.  Hopefully it will be fixed by Wednesday.

Between the glass and my back it has been an interesting week.  I refused to see a doctor because I will be instructed to do things I cannot do and be charged for it.  Either that or I will be given a wonderful drug cocktail that will make me the village idiot.  I took tylenol and tylenol pm.  I still hurt but it is getting better everyday.

My mother took care of my dad until her back gave out and then I climbed on board.  My dad was confined to a wheelchair.  I remember late at night I would hear a loud thump.  I would run into dad's bedroom and he would be laying on the floor.  Of course I would ask him "what are you doing on the floor?"  He would smile and laugh and say "I thought I was at the racetrack."  I would get him off the floor and back in bed.  My back never had a chance.

I will post more tomorrow with lots of pictures!

I love the racetrack story! Backs. What wonderful and troublesome parts they are in our bodies. I hope you continue to heal and can move on and enjoy your trips. Are you headed to Tucson, or just meandering in warmer territory?
