Golden Silk Orb Weaver and A Naked Man

IMAG0235-1When I am window shopping I will take a picture of something that I like or I think someone on my phone list will like.  If it is something I know my daughter will like I will take the picture and save it.  Then when I get the feeling she needs a pick me up I will send her the picture.  I found a painting that I really liked.  The artist is Bryon Fish and it is called “Free At Last.”  It is a picture of a naked man dashing gleefully into the sunset.  I just looked at it and I saw bliss.  I took the picture and saved it.

The other day I got that feeling that Hannah needed some bliss in her life and so I found the picture I took of “Free At Last” and sent it to her.  I texted Yippee!  Her response was WTH?  I told her it was a painting of joy.   She said it was an old naked man with hair up his back.  She called it porno.  I said No honey, when you look at it you see and feel the joy.  I told her I wanted to buy it for her.  Her response was OMG mom.

Undaunted I sent it to my oldest son… Mr. Conservative and waited.  He wasn’t amused.  You know I am so happy I am growing old enough to be an embarrassment to my children.  So I am sharing my picture with you.  Do you see the joy?

IMG_1010While in Marathon we visited  Crane Point Museum.  If it was a free place to hike I wouldn’t say anything but we paid to get in and it was very disappointing.  I am happy to say I did find a Golden Silk Orb Weaver.    In fact I found two of them and they were absolutely beautiful.  Golden Silk Orb Weavers are also called Giant Wood Spiders or Banana Spider.  They can reach the size of 1.5 to 2 inches in females. the males are smaller.  They are not poisonous.  The females do dine on the males after mating.  They are beautiful spiders.   I was thrilled when I found one and then I was over the moon when I found the second one.  I am so easily entertained.

Thanks for the laugh. BTW His back doesn't look that hairy.

Oh, Bob. It's hairy enough.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that picture -- yes we see the joy. In fact, there's nothing wrong with running around naked (at the right place at the right time). Looks like the man is in the Sonoran desert in southern Arizona, with the saguaro cactus in the backgroud. Don't know if I'd want to run around naked out there! And wow! What a gorgeous spider!

I love "Free At Last." I feel the joy and it makes me giggle. I don't think I want it hanging in my living room, though!

Happy Trails, forever!

Oh, yes, JOY!! And laughter, very good for the soul! Isn't it wonderful to be old enough to not take yourself and the rest of the world as seriously as our children do? Yep!!

He looks like he is running from his ex wife who could be holding something sharp.

And the hair, holy guacamole.

Maybe that's why he was going back to his ex wife because he can't shave it off by himself.

I'm starting to feel sorry for him.

But the spider pics, yow!

OH HOLY COW THE CAPTCHA THINGY IS 'PAYATIT.'

You run out of money honey, payatit.

Awesome. Love the naked guy. In about six weeks, it's gonna be me in that painting, hair up my back and all.

You run out of money honey, payatit. Ahahahahaha!
