Tallahassee Florida

We arrived in Tallahassee Florida around 5:00.  We are now on Eastern Time.  We were here a year ago at the same park and it was miserable then as it is miserable now.  What is so special about Florida in the winter?  It is COLD!  It could be worse - it could be raining and cold.  We are going to stick around for a couple weeks, possibly longer if it warms up.

I picked up a brochure on all of the state parks in Florida and I am super excited about exploring as many as we can.  It is a beautiful state with a wonderful history.  I know as soon as I thaw out I will feel a little more positive.

Tomorrow we will be in St Augustine Florida.  Life is good.

Florida is beautiful. And you're right, lots of wonderful things to see.

The northern part of the state can be quite cold in the winter, but if you move south, it will help. You're not far from the state park where we camped a couple years ago at Thanksgiving, and we nearly froze! It rained and the temps were well below normal. My tent and my daughter's family's tent leaked. We sat clustered around the fire 18 hours a day! Finally called it off a couple days early and went to their house in Melbourne. It was nice to be inside and have warm air outside!

That being said, have fun!

I was there yesterday and it was freezing!!! Was the state parks brochure you picked up the state parks guide or the Welcome Kit? I am trying to get feed back on the Park Visitor Welcome Kits in a number of states!

Anastasia Island State Park in St Augustine is beautiful!

Thanks and happy travels!

We went to the Florida Visitor Center for the brochure. You have to ask for it because it is kept behind the desk.
